Paul Tucker

Resources Technician and Bookkeeper

Paul, or, Paulo, as he’s known around the office, has been a Wren employee since 1999. He is primarily our sound, light and stage technician but also assists at music workshops. He’s also in charge of the maintenance of the IT, instruments, vehicles and buildings.

Paulo has worked in the building industry as well as vehicle seating engineering and fabricating. He also spent several summers working for a well known, though sadly no longer with us, cider brewery. He completed a City and Guilds qualification in Sound Engineering at Estover College and Deep Blue Sound in Plymouth.

A lover of music from an early age his main influence is classic rock and electric blues guitarists, like Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix as well as the more modern hair rock guitar of Bon Jovi, Joe Satriani and Steve Via. Paulo was a member of Wren’s Rough Music Orchestra in East Devon for many years so knows first hand the benefits of being a group member. He champions both the social aspect alongside how ensemble playing leads to your own musical growth.

You may well see him at Wren events behind a sound desk or running on stage to adjust microphones and plug things in, feel free to say hi…just not in the middle of a performance!
