Billie Bottle

Community Musician

Brought up in the north of England, Billie was steeped in folk music alongside her own electronic music and indie rock interests.

Study of music in London led her toward the realms of progressive rock, culminating in a collaboration with Dave Sinclair from folk-prog band, Caravan, and 5 years on the road as a musician with Giffords Circus. Since 2010, she was worked in both a therapeutic music and care capacity with people with learning disabilities, cared for children and the elderly.

Her own bands include Billie Bottle & The Multiple, who have performed and recorded the nature poems of Henry David Thoreau (2014’s Unrecorded Beam). In 2015, they delivered a pint of milk to Parliament on Election Day to represent the power of the people – this became 2021’s The Other Place. Her current project, Billie Bottle’s Temple of Shibboleth, is a mythic sisterhood who explore climate collapse, feminism and our own relationship to the Home. They toured and released their eponymous debut in 2023.

She sings and plays piano, guitar, mandolin, bass guitar and oboe and is currently training to be a counsellor.
