A chance to play together in a supportive group.
- Are you looking for a chance to play with others?
- Have you always wanted to try a melodeon or fiddle but not known how to get hold of one?
- Did you used to play but haven’t picked up your instrument since leaving school?
We meet for two hours of playing together once a month. There is no need to read music and no experience necessary. Complete beginners are welcome, along with those who are more confident with their instrument.
10am – 10.30am: Explore
Have a look around the instrument store room and try something new. Wren Music leaders will be on hand to help you learn the basics, and to complete the paperwork if you wish to hire an instrument.
10.30am – 12.30am: Play
Learn tunes by ear or with the music. The focus is on playing and having fun together.
Led by professional folk musicians Jon Dyer, Jenny Read and Paul Wilson.
Each session costs £12 – you can pay with cash or card on arrival at the session.
If you feel your music skills are more advanced than what’s required by the Mixed Monthly Orchestra, you may like to try our weekly Folk Orchestra.
