We are delighted to launch our new Sing & Play group for under-5s and their adults later this month, with the first weekly session on Friday 22 September, 10am -11.30am.
Sing & Play is led by one of our professional singers and musicians, Paul Wilson, accompanied by volunteers from the West Devon Folk Choir. The sessions will have two 35-minute music sections, with time for a little break in the middle.
Our Creative Director Marilyn Tucker said: “The idea is to help parents to make music an integral part of their children’s lives from an early age, and for children to have the chance to play real instruments.
“We’ll be song-sharing, so we want to hear the songs that they sing, and the volunteers from the choir will be bringing their family songs as well, so Sing & Play will have a strong inter-generational feel.”
The drop-in sessions are at Wren’s spacious Ebenezer Hall building in Okehampton and are on a “pay what you can” basis with £3 per family suggested.
We will also be planning some weekend workshops to include older children and more family members. More details will follow.
