Performance: A Song For Winsford Hospital

Saturday 17 July 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Winsford Cottage Hospital, Dreybury Lane, Halwill Junction, EX21 5XU

Visit the beautiful Winsford Hospital and hear the song we wrote with members of our community during lockdown 2020.

This song writing project in conjunction with The Landmark Trust celebrates the history of Winsford Cottage Hospital and the amazing work of healthcare professionals both through history and in the present day. The project was conceived prior to 2020 but now feels even more poignant.

The project saw members of our community, and people with an interest in the building come together over video calls to share thoughts and idea. The result is the song ‘Golden Repair’.

The song will be performed by Wren community singers and local school children. If you join our Choir for June-July 2021 you will learn the song and be able to put yourself forward to perform at this event.

Before the NHS, this cottage hospital enabled ordinary people to receive affordable medical treatment near to their homes without having to find the money or means to travel to larger general hospitals. The cottage hospital operated throughout the 20th century in the beautiful building designed by the pioneering Arts & Crafts architect Charles Voysey.

Join us for this special performance, light refreshments and an opportunity to relax and enjoy the lovely atmosphere of this building and its grounds. Tickets are free and available from the Landmark Trust via the booking link.
