Our Street Band will be leading the procession at this year’s Okehampton Lanterns event on Saturday 24 February.
Brass and woodwind particularly welcome, but any player of an instrument that can play while walking along is welcome to join us. No experience necessary for drumming – and drums provided.
Rehearsals are at Ebenezer Hall, Okehampton, on the following dates:
The first rehearsal for the event is on Wednesday 31 January at 7.30pm at Ebenezer Hall, Okehampton. After that, weekly rehearsals take place every Wednesday evening at Ebenezer Hall right up until up until Okehampton Lanterns.

The band is led by our multi-talented professional musician, Jon Dyer: “We want to hear from you if you’d like to be part of the band, it’s going to be great fun,” said Jon.
“We’ll be working with traditional folk music and adapting it for a street band set-up and also looking at street band traditions from around the world.”
