Join or watch the parade through St James St into Simmons Park with an evening of music, dance, and lanterns where people of all ages come together.
As people tire of the dark winter months, the lanterns remind us that spring is just around the corner and offers cause for celebration.
The Okehampton Lantern Procession is a community project for all ages and you have the opportunity to be involved.
There are community lantern making sessions at Ebenezer Hall during the February half term and we can arrange to visit special groups to allow as many people to join in as possible. We have had over 100 lanterns in the past and would love to have even more this year!
This is also a Street Band to accompany the procession, and you can join this too! They will meet weekly from 31 January at Ebenezer Hall on Wednesday evenings.
