Instrument Hire Scheme

We make instruments available for hire so that members of our groups can try them out without significant expense. This may be on the pathway towards buying or making an instrument. Or may simply be to try something different.

Every single one of our instruments is important to our work as a charity: using folk music to bring people together, improve skills and build self-confidence. In this spirit, we expect that you will care for this instrument as if it was your own.

There is a small charge to hire instruments. This helps to pay for maintenance of instruments between hires, and the administration costs of the scheme. Any surplus generated from the scheme is put towards our charitable activities.

If you would like to hire an instrument, please see your group leader to arrange a time to visit us at Ebenezer Hall to view and choose an instrument.

Any repairs must not be carried out without prior authorisation from Wren Music.

For stringed instruments: we know that strings break. If you have the necessary skills to replace a string without damaging the instrument then you can do so. If you would prefer we replace it for you, just contact us (see below) and we will arrange a suitable time for you to bring it in. Other repairs must not be carried out without prior authorisation from Wren Music.
