DESCRIPTION:A free evening of midsummer celebration\, with music\, storytelling\, dancing and a campfire. \nChildren welcome. \nA barbecue is available from 4.30pm until 6pm\, at a cost of £5 per person (cash). \nWhen you arrive you can help add some flowers to our specially made flower arch. We’ll make our way to the ‘stage’ (near the top gate) to hear some songs and music from Marilyn Tucker and Paul Wilson\, followed by a performance from Okehampton’s own West Devon Folk Choir. \nAfter this sit-down start\, we’ll enjoy some ceilidh dancing in and around the flower arch. As part of the dancing we’ll move across the site to settle ourselves around the campfire. \nStoryteller Katy Cawkwell will take us on an adventure with words\, leading to a singing and playing session around the fire finishing at 8pm.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free a afternoon celebrating European traditions of midsummer. \nOn arrival you’ll have the chance to make a flower garland to wear on your head\, and explore the community garden to make a special smelly potion with the things you can find. \nThen we’ll enjoy watching some morris dancing\, then taking part in some traditional midsummer dances from Sweden (they are really easy and we’ll show you what to do). \nAfter all that dancing around it’s time for a bit of sit down listening time\, and we’ll enjoy a song from Marilyn\, a story from Katy and then a song from Rebecka. \nAfter a bit more dancing\, we’ll all go on a ‘Wren hunt’. We’ll sing the well known song about this activity (usually it’s a bear!) and we’ll explore the garden to find the hidden wooden Wren. \nAt 4.30pm we’ll say farewell with a special present for you to take home\, and give you good wishes for a bright year. \nA barbecue is available from 4.30pm\, at a cost of £5 per person (cash).
