Her Story – rehearsals

Sunday 30 January 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Cygnet Theatre, Friar’s Gate, Devon, Exeter, EX2 4AZ

Join Her Story for 2022.

Update 07 Feb: As we only have two rehearsals remaining, unfortunately, we cannot accept new women into the group. We have covered a lot of material in our rehearsals so far including songs never sung by the Her Story choir before. If you would like to register your interest for future Her Story projects please contact us.

This project choir meets over five weeks and is open to anyone who identifies as a woman. The choir is open to all voices and abilities. You don’t need to have done any singing before. No previous musical experience or the ability to read music is required.

The songs we will learn have been written over the past five years of Her Story. They are about women’s lives past and present and include topics such as nursing, immigration, women at work and in science around the world.

We will meet for four rehearsals to learn the songs, culminating in a public concert for International Women’s Day. The concert will also feature folk singer and songwriter Sandra Kerr and the launch of the Her Story songbook!

Rehearsals will culminate in a performance in Exeter on Saturday 05 March 2022 in celebration of International Women’s Day.

You do not need to book in advance, but you can register your interest using the booking link above. You are welcome to simply show up the first rehearsal.
